"Holding hands is a promise to one another that, for just a moment, the two of you don't have to face the world alone." -unknown
Sometimes it’s the simplest image that captures our imagination. The couple walking on the hillside hand in hand. What is it about the image above that makes this an award-winning image? Is it the connection between the bride and groom? Is it the promise of a partner that each of us longs for? Is it the use of negative space? Negative space is defined as the space around and in-between the subject of an image. Is it the couple and their pose? In the image above the judges at this year’s WPPI print competition remarked that it was in fact the pose of the couple which lead them to score the print eighty or award it with a silver distinction award. The image is a simple, properly exposed photographic capture. Just the right moment when the groom looked back upon his bride as he led her across the field. Sometimes that all it takes to create an image that will have a lasting impression. Created at the Meritage Resort. Canon 5D MKIV, f3.5, 1/4000 of a second, ISO 120
