We love food and wine--and what more perfect place for a wedding than Napa! We wanted a casually elegant, outdoor wedding with lots of the natural beauty Napa has to offer. So we kept the palette simple with champagne as Irene's choice and teal as Simon's choice.
We knew each other from working at the same company. It wasn't until Simon bought a condo in the same neighborhood as Irene's that they struck a friendship. One day at work, Irene gets an instant message from Simon--that sounded like he was asking her on a date. The rest, as they say, is history. Simon, avoiding the cliche of proposals, proposed to Irene 5 years later in the comfort of her home, while she was in her pajamas.
Because family and friends had to fly in from all around the world, Simon and Irene chose Napa for the wedding. They printed a large world map with photos of everyone--this was a great conversation starter during cocktail hour, and because people signed it, also a great memoir. The day after the wedding, Simon and Irene arranged a three-stop wine tour and lunch for all their guests.
Invest in a great wedding planner. Irene and Simon were stress-free at the wedding and were able to enjoy being with their guests, who all traveled to Napa.
